Enigin News - Eniscope Heart of Northern Europe's Largest Solar Array
NORTHERN Europe’s largest roof-based solar cell system, with 3,042 panels and covering an area of 5,019 square meters, has Enigin plc’s Eniscope Real-time monitoring at its heart.
The system has been installed on the roof of the headquarters building of the Danish insurance company Topdanmark in the Copenhagen suburb Ballerup, and Eniscope will report on the amount of energy generated by the solar system in real-time.
The Eniscope, supplied by Danish Enigin Distributor IQ Energy, will visualise, measure, record and analyse the energy generation of the solar cell system and the consumption across multiple circuits in real-time, providing a visual display of the data to Topdanmark’s visitors and staff.
During a special inauguration ceremony Lars Løkke Rasmussen, former prime minister of Denmark, officially opened the installation, with Connie Hedegaard, EU Climate Commissioner, also delivering a speech to the assembled guests.
Connie Hedegaard said, “Environment and economy must go hand in hand in the 21st century and therefore I am glad that Topdanmark is sharing this investment with the rest of the world. It is important to have a long term perspective and that is why good examples are so important.”
Enigin plc’s Managing Director, Troy Wrigley said, “It is great to see technology developed by our team in Cornwall playing a key role in some of the world’s leading renewable projects. The installation in Copenhagen will generate around 752,000 kWh, corresponding to the average annual power consumption of around 200 households, saving approximately 600 tonnes of carbon emissions every year.
