Enigin News - Energy Efficiency Upgrades for Philippine Government Buildings

AT least 12 government buildings in the Visayas area of the Philippines will be upgraded with energy efficiency lighting and technology through initiatives from the Department of Energy (DOE).
The buildings the DOE reports that will be upgraded are four city government buildings; seven universities and a state-owned hospital.
The energy efficiency program are part of the Philippine Energy Efficiency Project (PEEP) which aims to reduce the buildings utility bills, while contributing to the nation’s parallel target of reducing carbon emissions.
This current set of upgrades is expected to cut energy consumption by about 222 megawatt-hours and greenhouse gas emissions by 120 tons of CO2 annually.
Enigin Distributors across the Philippines have already helped many govermental buildings to improve energy efficiency by implementing solutions and technology fron Enigin, reducing emissions and energy costs.
A total of 135 government buildings are set to have energy-efficiency improvements, generating savings of P73 million ($1.73M) from utility costs and reductions in emissions of about 3,900 tons annually.
The program started with the upgrading of 35 government buildings across the Metro Manila area in February.
