Enigin News - £8m Green Scheme is Major Boost for South West England

A NEW £8 million energy efficiency and micro-generation initiative has been launched this month for the South West of England by the UK’s Energy Saving Trust and Regen SW.
The initiative – Ready for Retrofit – the £8m programme will help local businesses prepare for the eco-refurbishment of tens of thousands of homes by 2020 and take advantage of the huge opportunities presented by Government initiatives including the Green Deal, Feed-in Tariff, Renewable Heat Incentive and Energy Company Obligation.
The programme will create a new industry and a sustainable market in the South West capable of delivering over £2.75 billion sales, over £1 billion Gross Value Added (GVA) and potentially employing more than 2,000 people between now and 2020.
Ready for Retrofit is helping to kick-start the massive eco-refurbishment task ahead by investing more than £6.5m in energy efficiency and micro-generation measures.
Local businesses will be supported to grow and develop new quality products and services through improved staff development, technical know-how and targeted marketing. The scheme will also help local trades people to improve their energy-efficiency knowledge so they can identify energy savings for their customers.
Enigin provide energy efficiency technology and advice to many organisations and local municipalities - often used to improve the energy efficiency in community developments or their own facilities. This new initiative will enable Enigin Distributors to provide further help and solutions to the areas ever growing green industry.
